Chapter 90 into Noida via ICD Dadri. The classification, duty and compliance levers.
Chapter 90 — Optical, photographic, medical and surgical instruments. If you are importing under Chapter 90 into Noida, your nearest operating gateway is ICD Dadri. Aurum clears here daily.
Surgical instruments (HS 9018), optical lenses (9001), measuring instruments (9031), X-ray apparatus (9022).

Chapter 90 compliance overlaps three regulatory bodies in most cases. Noida has its own optimal routing — usually ICD Dadri, occasionally JNPT or Mundra direct depending on consignment value, time-criticality and AEO status. We model the routing per consignment rather than defaulting to one gateway.
Noida-based importers are best served by ICD Dadri (INDAD6) — roughly 40 km from Sector 62 and the closest rail-served ICD with bonded warehouse capacity for the corridor. Sectors 60/62/63 and the Noida Electronics Cluster see daily Dadri-routed clearances, with TKD as the backup gateway for time-critical air-cargo.
Pre-shipment classification, duty estimate and PGA mapping — done before goods leave China, not after they're stuck.

For Noida-bound cargo, ICD Dadri usually wins on landed cost because rail-haul is bundled and last-mile is short. JNPT/Mundra direct only beats it for time-critical or oversized consignments, or for AEO-T1+ importers running DPD.
Without pre-clearance, Chapter 90 consignments are held at the dock more often than not — CDSCO Form 41 for medical devices, BIS overlap for accessories. If you pre-apply 6–10 weeks before vessel ETA, holds are rare.
Even single-unit imports of regulated medical devices need CDSCO import registration. Schedule MD-15 import licence applies. We coordinate with CDSCO zonal office for non-commercial / R&D consignments where the workflow is different but the documentation is still rigorous.
Tell us the commodity, the origin port and the destination ICD — we'll come back with a duty estimate and clearance plan.
